The archived "Introduction to Federated Identity Management," the first IAM Online educational session presented by InCommon, is now availalbe. John O'Keefe, director of academic technology and network services at Lafayette College, received high marks from seminar participants for his presentation on February 12.

The presentation is available via Adobe Connect archive, so viewers can see the slides and listen to O'Keefe's explanations, as well as the questions and answers. The slide deck is also available from InCommon (PowerPoint format).

IAM Online includes the essentials of federated identity management, hot topics from the EDUCAUSE Identity and Access Management Working Group, and emerging topics in IAM. Experts will provide overviews, answer questions and lead discussions.

Next month's IAM Online will feature Hot Topics from the EDUCAUSE Identity and Access Management Working Group. Mark Scheible will lead a discussion on the general challenges of provisioning remote users. Scheible, the manager of identity and access management at North Carolina State University, will also cover the specific impact of HEOA regulatory requirements that ask accrediting organizations to evaluate college identity procedures for distance education students. The next IAM Online will take place Thursday, March 11, 1 p.m. EST.
