The InCommon Federation has launched the InCommon Affiliate Pilot Program for 2010. The program will connect InCommon participants with commercial or non-profit organizations that provide software, content, guidance, support, and implementation and integration services related to participating in the federation.

For an institution or organization looking for help, it's a way of finding out what services are available in the marketplace. A new support section of the InCommon website will focus on helping InCommon participants get up and running, or take fuller advantage of the federation.

For commercial or non-profit organizations that want to offer services, the Affiliate Program provides a way to connect with federation participants, and to leverage InCommon communication and meeting avenues to market federated or federation-related products, services and consulting.

Affiliates will see benefits through:

  • Connecting with potential customers at the InCommon CAMP: Exploring and Supporting Federated Access, June 21-23, 2010, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The registration for this meeting will be available by February 21.
  • Having a presence in a new (under-development) support section of the InCommon website.
  • Highlighting products and services through links and visibility on the InCommon websiteto the affiliate section of the InCommon website
  • Leveraging other marketing opportunities as the program expands.

Proceeds from the Affiliate Program will provide funding for the federation's ongoing programs, including outreach, collaboration activities, educational offerings, research and development, and technical operations.
