Opening Remarks F2F2008

Jim Phelps opened the meeting discussing the charter for ITANAand our Missions and Goals.  The overarching goals are to:

• Provide a place for skill development
• Share tools and products
• Provide a space for new archtitects to get their feet wet and have peer support
• Develop and share common artifacts
• Share the workload on large projects
• and provide a point of contact for other groups

ITANA's focus is higher education though we welcome input from outside and we will leverage the work of industry's architecture groups (like The Open Group Architectural Framework).

There are several ways to participate in ITANA:

• Conference Calls
• Email list
• Wiki
• EDUCAUSE Constituent Group eeting
• Yearly Face2Face meetings

Jim talked about the growth of ITANA:  over 220 on the email list now.  40 in this Face2Face compared to 16 at the last Face2Face.  He discussed the challenge as we continue to grow to have useful and intimate meetings with lots of sharing.
