*April Face2Face Planning*

Registration is open for the Face2Face, April 29-30, immediately following the Internet2 Spring Member Meeting in Arlington, Virginia. There is a $235 registration fee for the ITANA sessions.http://events.internet2.edu/2009/spring-mm/registrationintro.html.

The most up-to-date Information about the schedule, and session details, is available on the ITANA wiki: https://spaces.at.internet2.edu/display/itana/Face2Face+Meetings

At this point, the major presentation/discussion areas (and chairs) include:

Enterprise Authorization (Marina Arseniev)
Kuali on Campus (David Walker)
SOA and Interoperability (Tom Dopirak)

Session abstracts are available on the Face2Face wiki pagehttps://spaces.at.internet2.edu/display/itana/Face2Face+Meetings

(AI) Recruiting presenters, and those with relevant stories, will be a shared responsibility of the chairs and Jim Phelps.

There will be a Kuali Rice presentation at Internet2 on the day before the ITANA F2F. Contacts will be made to invite the speaker to stay for the ITANA meeting and give a short presentation.

The SOA and Interoperability session will look at the potential for a single institution hosting undergraduate email for multiple institutions, rather than using a commercial provider such as Google. The session is not concerned with aspects of economics or differences in policies but rather how existing practices in federation and SOA might apply to a problem that spans the higher education community. (AI) Rich Stevenson said that the IMS Global Learning Consortium is just embarking down a similar path - he will share their documentation with ITANA.

*F2F Agenda*

The group discussed a strawman agenda posted to the wiki. The agenda includes morning presentations and afternoon sessions that include break-out working groups, a feedback session, and a hot topics session.

An alternative method for organizing the agenda was discussed on the call:

*****

1. Presentations/Discussion of Topic (such as Enterprise Authorization) - 60 minutes
2. Break
3. Working Group break-out to identify issues/areas needing further work - 45 minutes
4. Break
5. Feedback Topic - not necessarily related to the presentation. Brought by someone wanting feedback on a particular topic or question. They would provide a very short problem description (4 minutes?), followed by feedback - 15 minutes
6. Break

*****

This modular approach would be repeated for the other two topic areas - Kuali and SOA.

(AI) Jim Phelps will develop a revised agenda with this modular approach in mind.

There was also interest in an ITANA update, with reports on the current state of previous discussions and work accomplished by the working group, such as the data management and business intelligence topics explored in the past.
