An enterprise capability map is a high level summary of what a particular enterprise needs to be able to do to succeed. The map shows what capabilities are needed, not who carries them out, or how. Agreement on high level capabilities is a foundation for subsequent analysis and planning of business processes and technology solutions.
The map for each enterprise will be different, as enterprises vary greatly in their goals, size, and the number of organizations involved. The Reference Enterprise Capability Map below summarizes the capabilities covered in the RATL. In your planning process, you will likely remove or add capabilities.
