The group brainstormed around the possible uses of the refernece architecture:
- EA use cases:
- Use these artifacts to create a local version to use as an education tool for leadership
- Use this to highlight the role of technologies, across the whole set of capabilities
- Understand how capabilities "interact" so you can understand the interfaces that need to exist between the various technologies that deliver the capabilities
- Admin:
- Understand the impact of one system on the various interfaces:
- Understand where industry standards play a role in implementing
- Use this to plan a "bridging architecture" as you move from one architecture to another
- CIO:
- Figure out the impacts of a new modality on exiisting capabilities and technologies
- Figure out the impact of the LMS paradigm shift on the architecture
- Can an enterprise architecture support a PLE (Personal Learning Environment". What are the gaps, impacts
- Expand the "creative discussion" about T&L
- Figure out where there are redundancies -> drive cost reductions
- Instructional designer
- To better understand the roles of different people in a project
- Better understand how to best build the content and course
- Use the capabilities to build a course following best-practice delivery methods
- Understand and manage open learning resources. How to use them where to store them.
- IT architect
- Help instantiate the interfaces: event, person, group
- Use it as a tool to evaluate new applications (RFP's)
- Librarian
- Understand the creation needs of objects created in the T&L space
- Understand where and how it needs to deliver its contents across the the T&L archtecture
- Registrar
- Understand which student populations to maintain
- Under their interfaces
