Discussion and acceptance of the Technical Advisory Committee’s work re: deployment profile

Keith shared his slides on the deployment profile and there was a discussion on the direction this sets for folks to aim for. Once the standard has been approved in the broader Kantara space, we have to take it back into InCommon and figure out how to get the community to support the new requirements.

Laura Paglione  asked how quickly the items listed under "Adoption Impact to the Federation"  will start and it was noted 2-3 yrs at soonest and 3-5 as the latest, keeping in mind it is hard to predict timing.

There were questions about the difficulty to implement and Albert replied there could be with encryption but we will be offering guidance for any difficult issues.

Michael Berman made a motion to approve and Laura Paglione seconded.  All were in favor with no one opposing nor abstaining.

Baseline Expectations v2

David Bantz went through the slide deck highlighting the BEv2 requirements being to add error URL to an IdP metadata, add compliance with SIRTI v1.0 trust framework and add requirements for secure unbroken TLS for all end points.   It was noted that BEv2 conformance trend is faster than BEv1 was.  The question was brought up if MFA should be a part of BE3 in the near future.

New committee members for 2022 and beyond

Kevin reminded everyone that we have 5 terms that are coming to an end this year and  we need to start thinking about new committee members.  A topic to discuss at our Sept Meeting
