Status of Previous Action Items
- Ann will work with Nancy and Bob to initiate a set of questions for
Sungard.Joy Hughes, CIO of George Mason, developed a security checklist and
discussed it with Sungard. We'd like to build off of that document and
add our own section, so we present a unified approach. [AI] Ann to send
the Security Checklist to the list and [AI] Bob/Ann will add section to
the Checklist about Student Services.
- Bob will update the CollegeNet use case in the wiki.
This action item is complete.
- AACRAO IdM Conference Status
Ann has not heard from AACRAO about their decision to hold the IdM
Conference.
[AI] Nancy Krogh to follow up with Jerry Sullivan and Jerry Bracken.
EDUCAUSE Annual Meeting Plans

We discussed two approaches to the meeting, similar to those used at the
ATC. These include approaching key vendors on the show floor and
presenting on Federated IdM where possible.
1. Review the Vendor list and determine if there are companies we would
like to approach. [AI] Ann will send out the vendor list for all to
review before the next call.
2. Present at the Registrars and Admissions Officers Constituent Group
(CG) Meeting.
The group developed an initial outline for the presentation/discussion:
Overview of vision and discussion of what related items would help
attendees proceed on their campus on idm and fed idm. [AI] Joanne will
contact Ken and ask if there is still space on the agenda to talk about
these topics. The group may also present at the Administrative Systems
Management and Data Administration CGs. [AI] Ann will send out the
scheduling information for the CGs of interest.
Many registrars look to AACRAO for advice on what to do regarding a
particular issue. A great outcome of our collective effort would be a
practice paper that could be adopted across the HE community. That is
what the IdM Conference, sponsored by AACRAO, is proposed to produce.
The group thought that the workshop planning group would be in a good
position to design the meeting around the development of this paper and
develop some ideas ahead of time, vet them at the sessions, etc.
Without this paper, we need to develop scenarios and/or a short document
to describe our vision of the future that can be used as a motivation
and communication tool at the Educause and other meetings. [AI] Ann and
Karen to draft short vision document to be discussed on the next call.
