Survey and Article

Discussed the proposed article for College & University (the AACRAO magazine), discussing the results from the remote identity proofing survey. From the wiki, the articleoutline is:
1. Introduction (Mark M)
2. Problem Definition and Components (Keith)
        - Terms and Definitions
3. Survey Summary and Results (Linda/Mark)
4. Process Proposals (Ann)
5. Summary and Recommendations

The AACRAO deadline is August 15. Our internal deadlines are:

  • June 10 – deadline for intro, summary/results sections
  • June 24 – deadline for problem definition, process proposal, summary/recommendation sections
  • July 29 – final draft completed
  • August 5 – discuss final comments on the InC-Student call

(AI) Mark will confirm with AACRAO editor Heather Zimar whether the magazine provides graphic support for illustrations, charts, etc.

Other article-related discussions:

  • Should we touch on levels of assurance? If so, it will only be to educate folks about why assurance will be important, but we will not make any recommendations.
  • Discussed whether to mention the use of social identity and decided not to raise the topic.
  • It is important that the introduction talk about the concept of federation and the benefits.

InC-Student Participation

There was a brief discussion about the direction for the InC-Student collaboration group. One concept is to work with AACRAO on some challenges that we could work on together. One idea is to look at easing the transition from K-12 identity to higher ed identity, perhaps involving the College Board or College.net. Ann will be discussing this with Jeff von Munkwitz-Smith, the incoming president of AACRAO, and Jim Bouse, an AACRAO board vice-president.
