The PESC EA2 Committee has started up a pilot project with College Board and ACT technical folks to assemble use cases and a value proposition concerning joining InCommon and potentially offering an identity provider for K-12 students. The potential students would then log into ACT or the College Board to interact with the campuses to which they have applied. Campuses would, potentially, then not have to provide accounts to prospects. These testing services already identity proof their test-takers with photo IDs.

The same concept could potentially be used when students transfer to a different university and may have applications for remote identity proofing, as well.

There are still a number of questions and we need to look at the value proposition from a number of standpoints, including the testing services and campuses.
