Discussion

*Face to Face COmanage BoF Session at SMM -- Reminder*

Internet2 Spring Member Meeting
Arlington, VA
COmanage BoF
Monday 27-Apr-09
Salon B

*Release Status*

Chris reported that the base Confluence Install version for COmanage was packaged and sent to Digant on 16-Apr-09.
The CO-Confluence package (including the authenticator for Shib and the license) is almost ready.  Chris is just solving an issue with the hash value.

Digant would like help with certain aspects of Sympa for the domestication process.

[AI] (IJ) will email Digant and introduce himself as a resource for Sympa issues.

Bob noted that Sympa developers themselves are also a good resource.

[AI] (Bob) will provide an intro to the Sympa developers for Digant.

*Marketing Materials for COmanage*

COmanage marketing materials are coming along well.
Ken showed the updated COmanage website to George Strawn at NSF and it was well received.http://middleware.internet2.edu/co/
[AI] (SteveO) will post the revised COmanage info sheet on the COmanage website and Emily will send it to out to the COmanage-dev list.

*Burton Group Catalyst Conference*

Burton Group has a Catalyst Conference every year in July. Industry-wide demos are featured, and many demos are typically focused on federations. Internet2 has participated in the past. This could be a good opportunity to showcase COmanage.

Such a COmanage demo for the Catalyst Conference could be branded along with InCommon, or with both InCommon and Internet2.  It could take some time to develop an attention-catching, compelling demo.
[AI] (All) Inform Bob know if you are interested in helping with a COManage demo for the Burton Group Catalyst Conferencehttp://catalyst.burtongroup.com/

*Scholarship Scenarios*

TomB mentioned his discussions with Chad Kainz regarding interest in COmanage for U. Chicago and also from the point of view of scholarship scenarios being considered by the Bamboo Project.  Chad is attending the Bamboo Project Workshop at Brown April 16-18.  It's hoped that the concept of a scholarship scenario for COmanage will get sharpened and some concrete requirements will emerge.
