Welcome to the IAM Tools and Effective Practices (IAM-TEP) Project Site

The IAM Tools & Effective Practices project team (IAM-TEP) is focused on providing a set of resources for IAM Architects to use in implementing a cohesive program on their respective campuses.  Individual projects and events will support this effort and may focus on the revision of existing documents (e.g. presentations, white papers, etc.) as well as the creation of new resources or tools.

IAM-TEP "Hot Topics" Survey

In order to identify those areas or topics of highest priority to the IAM community, the IAM-TEP team created a survey of IAM topics based on IDM list activity, responses to a "hot topics" email, and recent topics or sessions at EDUCAUSE and I2 meetings.  The survey took place in early December, 2010 and the results are posted below.  The team will begin by addressing topics from this survey as we populate the site.

Resources

Based on the analysis of responses to the two Survey Questions, 4 of the top 5 topics in each list are the same (see the Adjusted Topic List above).  We will start by addressing 3 of those topics and add additional topics in the future.  We will not address Privilege/Access Management initially, as it was combined with Federated Access/Privilege Management and there is a fair amount of discussion taking place on how to address this between a number of the Internet2/MACE Working Groups.
