Action Items

[AI] (ACAMP Prog. Com.) will ask Leif if he would be willing to lead the action item to "Develop proposal for DNS-based IdP discovery"

[AI] (ACAMP Prog. Com.) will send an email to the entire ACAMP attendee list with a status/progress report and info on getting involved in the ongoing work.

[AI] (ACAMP Prog. Com.) will contact the leads who were not on this call (TimP, MarkS, ScottyL, EricW) to ensure sure they are on track.

[AI] (ReneeS)  will create an agenda item on the next MACE call to talk about the best venue for the Developer's Guide work (being led by Scott Cantor).

Welcome and Overview

TomB and Jonathan welcomed the group.

Goal of call is for leads to have a clear plan for their assigned action item in the next 5 months.
The idea is to state a deliverable that fits within the timeframe of:
• mid Sept - progress call
• mid Nov - final and next steps call
At those milestones, the leads will be asked to report.

Leads should put a few sentences about Deliverables and Goals (and if possible, a timetable with milestones) on the page linked from their action item on the wiki.

https://spaces.at.internet2.edu/display/ACAMPActionItems/Home

The Program Committee will send an email to invite all ACAMP attendees to look at the wiki pages to monitor what's going on and get involved where possible. The wiki will be a good meeting place, a place to see the latest status.

Logistics

Do the leads on the call have what they need?

Keith requested an email list for policy engine list.
SteveO set up a list called polengine@internet2.edu

Two other leads already have set up email lists via SteveO.  Others who would like an email list, please contact SteveO.

Action Items Needing Leads

Scott confirmed that he will be the lead for "Write Developer's Guide to Federating Applications."

Others will need to volunteer to lead the two other action items Scott had been temporarily assigned:

  • Federate a Mobile App

and

  • Develop proposal for DNS-based IdP discovery

Leif was a potential participant/collaborator for the DNS-based IdP discovery action item. Perhaps he will agree to lead that.

AI (ACAMP Prog. Com.) will ask Leif if he would be willing to lead the action item to "Develop proposal for DNS-based IdP discovery"

Reports from the Leads

Scott
Action Item: "Write Developer's Guide to Federating Applications."
Scott's first steps are:
• Identify a home for the effort and solicit participation.
• Develop an outline for the material and an authoring process.
Scott has begun to list potential topics on the wiki:

https://spaces.at.internet2.edu/display/ACAMPActionItems/ACAMP2010+-WriteDevelopersGuideToFederatingApps

Scott wants others to share in the work, but first he wants to decide on the ultimate venue for the Developer's Guide and and determine where the material should live while it's being developed. Spaces wiki is one possibility.

There is material in the Shib wiki that would be better removed from there and placed in this guide, with pointers to it from the Shib area.

Scott plans the guide to be more descriptive than prescriptive. Goal is to be inclusive of various ways of doing things.

Scott said that he hopes to get the topic of a "home" for the effort on the MACE  agenda.

[AI] (ReneeS)  will create an agenda item on the next MACE call to talk about the best venue for the Developer's Guide work.
