Slides for next week's IAM Online

Subject:[TAC-InC] Slides for next week's IAM Online
Date:Tue, 7 Sep 2021 22:18:59 +0000
From:Wessel, Keith

Hey, all,

You'll see this on this week's TAC agenda which will be coming out tomorrow, but I wanted to get this in everyone's inboxes today if I could.

The IAM Online from the various InCommon working groups is next week, and I wanted to share the contents of the slides I'll be presenting for the TAC. Please forgive the formatting; it needs help, and I've asked Netta and others to help with that. If you can ignore the bad formatting and focus on the content, I welcome your feedback.

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/13PQKmHjGZrWH8SWB8x8b3ZN6uA7bDrQUX1CBLsJbWGQ/edit?usp=sharing

We only have 10 minutes for our section. So, I'll be staying high level on the 2021 work plan items. I'll probably just say a sentence or two about each and get people interested enough to learn more at CAMP.

Thanks for any feedback,
Keith

Hi again, all,

I have an item on the agenda tomorrow about next steps for communication around the deployment profile adoption. I’ve put together some rough text for a web page. Still more needing to be filled in, including specific requirements that have and will be adopted, but I wanted everyone to have time to see this before tomorrow’s call.

Albert or David, can you also add this link to tomorrow’s pre-reads?

Thanks,

Keith

Fed 2.0 update to TAC

Subject:[TAC-InC] Fed 2.0 update to TAC
Date:Thu, 9 Sep 2021 16:10:57 +0000
From:Bush,Judith

The active members of the working group has been meeting between scheduled bi-weekly meetings to refine text on the final draft. At this point there’s a concern that the urgency is not clear, and the call to individual federation leadership to engage is not strong enough. We have two scheduled drafting meetings to work on the urgency before meeting on Wed  the 15th. At this point, it’s likely the 7 minute CAMP lightning talk will be to present the call to action and note that consultation is beginning.

International, SeamlessAccess, and Browser Interactions updates

Subject:[TAC-InC] International, SeamlessAccess, and Browser Interactions updates (9 September 2021 TAC call)
Date:Thu, 9 Sep 2021 09:42:34 -0700
From:Heather Flanagan

International / REFEDS
43rd REFEDS meeting - Registration is open (https://refeds.org/meetings/43rd), scheduled for 30 September 2021. Current plans are to focus exclusively on REFEDS Strategic Planning and R&S 2.0. Please register!

R&S 2.0
The Working Group is almost ready to release the Personalized Entity Category for consultation. The group finished its guidance for Service Providers, but felt that a bit more information on signaling assurance (including how to signal no assurance) was needed. The goal (again) is to have a consensus call on our next working group call, and if that is positive, then it will go out for consultation during a time period that overlaps the REFEDS, CAMP, and ACAMP meetings, thus allowing for some additional discussion regarding the spec.

SeamlessAccess
The SeamlessAccess Outreach Committee is working on an FAQ that describes the upcoming access issues related to the planned browser changes. While in review now, we hope to share that far and wide within the next four weeks.

The WAYF Entry Disambiguation working group is also at a point where they are finishing up a description of the problem (with examples) such that they can share that with the world. In parallel, the group is considering short-, medium-, and long-term mitigations for handling WAYF entry collisions.

Browser Interactions
The fedidcg is, as most new groups do, establishing a common terminology for what is "sanctioned tracking" vs "unsanctioned tracking" (starting from definitions provided in ttps://www.w3.org/2001/tag/doc/unsanctioned-tracking/) and establishing user stories of actions that are unquestionably "sanctioned" or unquestionably "unsanctioned." By defining the boundaries and setting an absolute truth, more ambiguous scenarios can be compared against them to help decide what and where the group should focus its efforts.
