Connecting Healthcare to the Internet2 Network (pdf)

Each FCC RHCPP Participant choosing to connect to Internet2 will do so via an Internet2 Network Connector. In addition, each FCC Participant will be responsible for the Health Network Initiative (HNI) Connection Fee of $25,000 to be paid directly to Internet2.  To establish the connection to the Internet2 Network and initiate payment of the HNI Connection Fee, follow these instructions:

1.    In September, please watch the Health Network Initiative (HNI) webpage (http://www.internet2.edu/health/hni/) for a link that will lead the RHCPP Participant through the process of establishing a connection to the Internet2 Network and initiate payment of the Usage Fee.
2.    The RHCPP Participant will be asked to read and agree to the Terms of Use for the Internet2 Network.
3.    After accepting the Terms of Use, the RHCPP Participant will be asked to provide contact information for the technical, executive and billing contacts.
4.    The RHCPP Participant will be asked to identify the Internet2 Network Connector (http://www.internet2.edu/connectors/) providing the connection and will be responsible for completion of all necessary contractual requirements for connection through the Connector.
5.    After agreeing to the Terms of Use and identifying the connector, RHCPP Participant will be able to download a budgetary quote form via the HNI webpage with a request for a PO to be sent to Internet2.
6.    Upon receipt of the PO, Internet2 will send an invoice to the RHCPP Participant for the HNI Network Usage Fee.
7.    After the $25,000 Network Usage Fee has been received by Internet2 (including 85% from USAC and 15% from the RHCPP Participant), the connection will be turned up through the Internet2 Network Connector identified via this process.
8.    Payment in full of the HNI Connection Fee will establish the connection for 365 days from date of turn up.
