Title: Options for Connecting to Internet2

Abstract: Speakers will offer an overview of options for connecting rural health care networks to the Internet and Internet2, as well as a discussion of the network requirements of various applications from tele-medicine to clinical messaging.

1. Requirements for tele-health applications vs. asynchronous messaging (e.g, clinical messaging, image transfers, etc.) - role of the Nationwide Health Information Network Connect Gateway
2. How is Internet2 connectivity different from public Internet connectivity
3. Overview of the Internet2 model for connecting RHCPP networks - availability of advanced services (e.g., IPv6 and IP multicast) - security issues
4. Typical models for connecting to both Internet2 and the public Internet - multi-homing (what is it, what does it require)
