Kelly attended the Spring Member Meeting (SMM) with registration fee waived by Internet2
she found it very helpful, especially for:
            1. putting faces to names
            2. understanding how Internet2 works & Internet2 internal issues
            3. learning what other universities are doing, and how
is hoping to attend San Diego, but if not will get to SMM
she really encourages others (especially those new to community) to attend

question - how do we know which classes are useful to attend?
go to http://events.internet2.edu/2007/fall-mm/to view program, workshops, etc
    FMM program:  http://events.internet2.edu/2007/fall-mm/agenda.cfm

Others who wish to be added can go to:  https://mail.internet2.edu/wws/subrequest/caribinterestand enter email address

Curtis - will anyone from CKLN be attending FMM?  He's eager to get in touch with them there or elsewhere
            FMM online roster:  http://events.internet2.edu/2007/fall-mm/roster.cfm
Florencio - not aware of anyone attending FMM - will ask Ken Sylvester if he or someone else will be there
Believes their project should be approved by the end of November or so

Things have been moving slowly in the Caribbean over the summer (summer for some of us...)

Expecting good news re: money from IADB, World Bank, etc to be approved by European commission in next few months
        money is for CARICOM countries
eventually to connect everybody, but Franciso doesn't think intitial money will be able to connect everyone

David asked about China and specifically IPv6 -
Heidi said China is running it on both institutional & university platforms
UTT is VERY interested in leaving commercial internet and moving to Internet2 or the merged organization
Also questions asked about the Internet2 and NLR proposed merger
the Internet2 board has voted to approve the merger; NLR scheduled to meet over next couple weeks to discuss
            merger site: http://www.internet2-nlr.org/
specific questions should be directed to Tracey Futhey and/or Jeff Lehman
