May 2018 Newsletter: All About Baseline Expectations for
Trust in Federation

Changes to the InCommon Participation Agreement will take effect in approximately two weeks on June 15 (note the link opens a PDF in a Box folder).

Details about the changes were sent to InCommon executive and communications contacts via email on March 15, 2018.

These changes are related to Baseline Expectations for Trust in Federation. One key difference is replacing the POP (Participant Operational Practices) with a dispute resolution process. The web links will also lead to information about a new community consensus process and other information about Baseline Expectations.

Other Important Updates

Each month since February 2018, InCommon has sent metadata health checks to help organizations see the progress in meeting Baseline Expectations. Read about the results so far.

Questions about the Baseline Expectations required elements in metadata have centered on two items: logos and privacy URLs. The InCommon Community Trust and Assurance Board (CTAB) has developed guidance in both of these areas to help participants understand the need for these metadata elements and clarify the expectations.
