Here is a movie demonstrating the Grouper upgrader, which is new as of Grouper 2.2.1 For a minor upgrade, see the "Grouper Minor Upgrade" training video. Note: The upgrade to Grouper 2.2 is not a minor upgrade, so there are additional steps, particularly updating the database and running the post install gsh script. Also, much of the video talks about merging configuration files, and that has changed with Grouper 2.2. See the Upgrade Instructions. If you are new to Grouper and need to get started, download the installer and watch this video
- Grouper Installer v2.2.1 (.tar.gz) (jar only) - Designed to get a working demo up and running quickly. Will also upgrade and patch Grouper to the latest version (experimental). Contains the Grouper API, UI, WS, loader (daemons), a demo database, a database engine, tomcat, and ant. All you need is Java 6+ JDK (note, you should not use Java8 in Grouper 2.2-).
- Grouper API Binary v2.2.1 (.tar.gz) - Binary release of the Grouper Application Program Interface and associated utilities. Getting started with the Grouper API Binary Distribution
- Grouper API Source v2.2.1 (.tar.gz) - Contains the full source for the Grouper Application Program Interface, Grouper Shell, and other associated utilities.
- Provisioning Service Provider v2.2.1 (.tar.gz) - Binary provisioning plugin for Grouper. More provisioning software for Grouper is available in Maven
- Grouper UI v2.2.1 (.tar.gz) - Contains the full source for the Grouper Administrative and Lite User Interfaces.
- Grouper WS v2.2.1 (.tar.gz) - Contains the full source for the Grouper Web Services Interface.
- Grouper Client v2.2.1 (.tar.gz) - Client for Grouper LDAP and Web Services, in binary form. Grouper Client v2.2.1 source is also available.

Release components
Grouper in v4 is a container. If your institution does not run containers regularly, it's ok, you can run Grouper without making investments in container orchestration.

- The Grouper client is a java library for Grouper web services which can be used command line and can show example web service calls
- Download the version you want from maven. (download the grouperClient-*.jar)
- Get a grouper.client.base.properties e.g. for 2.5.X:
