Data Protection FAQ Development

Denise plans to take the content that exists on that wiki by Dec. 10 and use it for a blog posting. About five FAQs would be a good amount. The information could be subject to later addition and revision, as a living document. In addition to the FAQs , Denise would also like to include links to a small set of helpful resources in the blog posting,  The FAQs could later be put it on the COSN website along with the Primer.unmigrated-wiki-markup

It was agreed that many states and districts are grappling with important privacy and process questions related to moving data, including student data, to the cloud. It would be good to have guidance that is not vendor specific.  In some cases inBloom has become a focal point, but the issue extends beyond any one vendor or program.

Keith noted that COSN is working with the Berkman Institute for Internet and Society at Harvard on developing a toolkit around privacy in the cloud environment.
