Some people in the SAML community are interested in extending the reach of SAML technology by removing various barriers that today can make deployments difficult, non-scalable, and non-interoperable.  The notion of "distributed" applies to changing the operations of typical multi-party SAML federations to be less dependent on central administration.  The notion of "dynamic" implies various means to support discovery and auto-configuration instead of static pre-arrangement between parties.

Proposals are being developed to be promoted in various communities, including potential submissions to the OASIS Security Services Technical Committee for consideration as standards.
