Follow these instructions to install the COmanage VM.
(If you are not familiar with Debian networking, review the detailed instructions on performing the tasks in Debian here. )

  1. Download COmanage. Expand the files, and load them as VMware.
  2. Start the appliance.
  3. Fix the network settings. (If you are using DHCP, skip this step.)
    1. On the VMware console, press ALT-G (so that the keyboard input will go to the guest OS) and then press ALT-F1 to activate the Linux console.
    2. Login as "root" and use the password "comanage".
    3. Edit the following network settings:
      1. Edit /etc/network/interfaces.
      2. Edit /etc/resolv.conf to point to the local DNS servers.
      3. Edit /etc/hostname to change the hostname of the system.
    4. Restart networking.
    5. Your VM should be running. In order to double-check, use the following steps:
      1. Execute /etc/init.d/mysql restart to make sure mysql is running.
      2. Execute /etc/init.d/slapd restart to make sure ldap is running.
      3. Execute /etc/init.d/sympa restart to make sure sympa is running.
  4. Generate keys and a CSR, and add your new SP to your Federation. To create a self-signed certificate, see additional information on embedded certificates.
  5. Using a browser, visit the server at the host name you gave it. If using DHCP, go to the IP address that the DHCP server issued.
  6. Access the Admin link, using "comanage" for both the username and the password.

From here, you can use the federations link to set up Shibboleth, the Drupal link to setup Drupal, and the users link to invite new users to your COmanage space.
