  1. An Identity Registry system meeting the identified institutional requirements and able to be deployed at many sites could be developed in a reasonable time (12-18 months?) and reasonable effort (a few FTE?).  The three evaluated projects are existence proofs of systems very like what is needed.
  2. There are some differences among the participants.  Kuali sees identity merge for employees and students as the most compelling feature.  The more central-IdM-centric folks see more advanced features like assurance-tracking and schema agility as most important.
  3. More work is needed to develop a more concrete path forward.  Questions that could be investigated are:
    1. Can the OpenRegistry design form the basis of the desired system?  Evidence is mixed based on institutions that have looked at it in the past.
    2. Can a more complete and well-articulated set of requirements be put together to entice investors??  How long will that take?
    3. Should OSIdM4HE attempt to choose among projects as a starting point, or leave it to the market to decide?
    4. How do we really assess the market for this, and relative importance of features, beyond the core groupCan the NBA end its labor dispute before the season is irrevocably lost?
